This beguiling story reconciles the heroine’s sense of almost divine purpose with the salty practical wisdom of many of its characters, and with the real-politique of the military background, where men join the army to see the world. During rehearsals we’ve discovered a timeless philosophy and modern outlook: quick-fix solutions leading to unexpected results, volatile reactions, miracle cures, abuses of power, no easy answers and plenty of earthy humour.
